Sky, fog and time of day
Scene, level & worldSet up sky, fog, time of day and other ambience for a level.
What it’s for
This area shapes the look of a level’s world: the sky, the fog, the time of day and the atmosphere. Ask your assistant to add or remove environment actors such as a sky sphere, a fog volume or procedural terrain. It can also save the current environment as a snapshot and load it back later.
It can also adjust the live scene directly: brighten or dim the sun and skylight, or move the time
of day. When you want a modern, physically based sky, ask for a SkyAtmosphere, a
VolumetricCloud or a reflection capture, with the settings you describe applied right
away.
Use it when you are dressing a scene: setting a mood, lighting a screenshot, or giving a fresh level its first sky. For the sun and sky lights themselves, see Lighting. To fine-tune any setting on the actors it creates, see Object properties.
Limits
The older sky and fog tools and the newer physically based sky actors both live in this area. Say which look you want if it matters.Things you can ask
